Summary of Services - Colville Indian Power & Veneer Power Plant

PES was hired by Colville Indian Power & Veneer (CIPV) to do an EPC refurbished project on their #1 Power Boiler.  The boiler is a wood fired 120,000 lb/hr 600 psi 750ºF boiler that required major upgrading and refurbishment.  PES designed the upgrades to the boiler system, supplied all equipment, and performed the work on a turnkey basis.  The major work performed on the boiler included:

                Replacement of the infeed stokers with new stainless steel stoker trays and chutes

                Design, supply, & install a pulse air system for the existing wood stokers

                Replace warped under grate boiler tubes

                Refurbish combustion chamber refractory including: bull nose, superheater baffles, front and back grate seals, furnace and stoker refractory

                Remove approximately 500 convective tubes, supply and replace with new tubes

                Remove and replace both convective section sidewalls with new refractory and insulation

                Replace steam drum to superheater header tubes and re-insulate

                Hydroblast and repair air heater tubes with stainless inserts

                Design, supply, and install air heater inlet flue gas baffle

                Refurbish existing multiclone, including installing new cones, redesign of the ash hoppers, and install ash collection screws

                Redesign complete ash system including vibratory ash screen, rotary valve, and re-injection lines

                Redesign, fabricate, and install new scrubber assembly and boiler exit stack

PES performed this turnkey project during a short outage schedule for the boiler.  Once the boiler was placed back into operation, the boiler has been able to operate continuously at or above its rated capacity of 120,000 lb/hr.
